On July 20, 1969, millions of people sat spellbound in front of televisions and radios and listened to the launch of the Apollo 11 mission. With the radio message "Capcom go!", the ground station confirmed the successful communication with the astronauts – and thus gave the starting signal for the most exciting journey in human history to date.
